Leaders Empowering Aspiring Students (L.E.A.S ) Volunteering for EIP’s Strengthening the Family Workshop (STF)
L.E.A.S is EIP’s student leadership team and two of its members, D’Andre Villa and Cristian Mejia, both are current 12th grade students at Annandale High School in Fairfax County. Both recently volunteered their time on October 11th, 2014 at Glasgow Middle School, they assisted EIP staff to provide childcare services. This is an essential service we offer to EIP families in order for parents to fully participate in the family workshops with their EIP student.
The Strengthening the Family Workshops are designed to increase the understanding among our EIP Parents of the issues their students face as they progress through the public school system. Together the families explore strategies to intensify student advocacy and building stronger family ties.
We are very grateful to these two students for their initiative and commitment to give back to the program, therefore providing community service.
Thank you D’Andre and Cristian for representing the Senior Class of 2015!
